Imangi Studios’ recently released Temple Run 2 has turned out to be the fastest growing mobile game with over 50 million downloads in less than two weeks, company mentioned in a press release.
“Temple Run has evolved into something so much bigger than us,” says Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi. “The game has performed beyond our wildest dreams, and we are thrilled that gamers and fans have embraced Temple Run 2 in such a short period of time.”
The 50 million number includes Temple Run 2 downloads in Apple App Store, Google Play and Amazon App Store. The game took just 13 days to break the previous record held by Angry Birds Space, which reached 50 million downloads in 35 days.
Given the fast adoption of smartphones, we would see the records getting broken even faster in the coming months as more and more consumers would have access to these games.
Temple Run 2 was originally launched on the Apple App Store on January 17 followed by Google Play and Amazon App Store a week later. Game’s earlier version Temple Run has been downloaded over 170 million times and we are pretty sure Temple Run 2 will cross that number easily.
Imangi Studios has released three version of Temple Run till now – original game, Temple Run: Brave and Temple Run 2.
